Working with The Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury, RSC voice coach Michael Corbidge has created a series of short workout videos to help get us using and enjoying our voices more.

During this past year, a lot of people have been experiencing social isolation and may have been speaking less. But like any instrument, we need to practise using our voices to get the very best out of them, and these videos aim to help people rediscover the joys and value of speaking aloud.

The Re-Finding Your Voice workshops are led by RSC voice coach Michael Corbidge, and show theatrical voice and text techniques that are used by stage professionals. The videos cover topics like warming up and projecting your voice, and are suitable for anyone, regardless of previous acting experience.

These online workshops mark the start of our Shakespeare Nation partnership with The Marlowe, as we aim to bring a love of Shakespeare and the theatre to groups that might not have engaged with it before. The project will see a range of local people weaving their personal stories with the words of Shakespeare to create something new and unique, culminating in a production in The Marlowe Studio later this year.
