Thank you to everyone who has named a seat and helped secured the theatre's future.

There are still seats available to name, but they are going quickly. With options available from £600 to £3,000, you can help secure the future of the Swan for both audiences and artists to enjoy. Your name, or that of a friend or loved one, will be engraved on a wooden plaque which will be attached to your chosen seat for at least 10 years.

If you would like to name a seat in the Swan Theatre please email support@rsc.org.uk or call 01789 403470.

The Swan Theatre is loved by audiences and artists alike for its intimacy and wooden structure and we are thrilled it is once again open. The theatre closed in March 2020 and before it could reopen some refurbishment work needed to take place to:

  • Replace the old bench seating with individual seats for greater audience comfort.
  • Continue our commitment to making our work accessible to as many people as possible with more wheelchair spaces and a new induction loop for those with hearing impairments.
  • Reduce our environmental impact and improve the sustainability of the Swan Theatre by including new technical systems that are futureproof and energy efficient.
  • Enable the beautiful Ashcroft rehearsal room (named after Peggy Ashcroft) situated above the theatre to be used again.
