The actor, who has played several Shakespeare roles on our stages, most recently as Prospero in The Tempest, has received the award for his Shakespeare work.
Every year the Festival Shakespeare Argentina and Uruguay, together with the Fundación Romeo gives the ‘Premio Shakespeare’ to a major artist.
Last year the award went to Judi Dench, Kenneth Branagh and Harold Bloom.
