Welcome to our new season in Stratford-upon-Avon, a line-up of seven thrilling productions.

In this season, encounter Shakespeare’s mastery across genres - one Roman play, one history, one comedy, one tragedy - as well as two brilliant adaptations of original works by female novelists, and an exciting revival of a 2025 sell-out RSC West End production.

A warm welcome to the season from our Co-Artistic Directors

In the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, a trilogy of Shakespeare’s plays opens with a new production of political tragedy Coriolanus from RSC Associate Director Elizabeth Freestone starring Damien Molony (Bergerac, Two Weeks in August) in the title role. It is followed by historical drama Richard II starring Elizabeth Debicki (The Crown, Tenet) and directed by Daniel Raggett, and continues with Romeo and Juliet, in a production by director Joanna Bowman.

In the Swan Theatre, we are thrilled to announce the revival of Liz Duffy Adams’ Born With Teeth, following its run in the West End, directed by Co-Artistic Director, Daniel  Evans. Former RSC Writer-in-Residence, Zoe Cooper, adapts Virginia Woolf’s Mrs Dalloway for a production by Co-Artistic Director, Tamara Harvey, just over a century after the novel’s publication. To end the summer, Susanna Clarke’s award-winning labyrinthine novel, Piranesi, is adapted by Sami Ibrahim and directed by Ned Bennett.

In The Other Place, Shakespeare’s madcap comedy, The Comedy of Errors, will be directed by Sherman Theatre Artistic Director Francesca Goodridge ahead of a First Encounters with Shakespeare tour to RSC partner schools and venues.

At the RSC, you can always discover an extensive programme of events for young people, schools, lifelong learners and families, and our exhibition, The Play’s The Thing. When you visit, sample the menu and the view from the Rooftop Restaurant, grab a snack and a coffee from the Riverside Cafe or drop into Susie’s Café Bar in The Other Place.

Please join us to explore together the enigma of human experience through the power of theatre. We can’t wait to welcome you.
