The world premiere of our first ever video game, produced with iNK Stories and Alambic Production, has been presented at 2025's Festival de Cannes (Cannes Film Festival), which runs from 13 to 22 May 2025.
LILI marks the first time a video game has been presented in a Cannes Festival competition.
The game has been selected as part of the prestigious Festival de Cannes Immersive Competition, which showcases work that pushes the boundaries of storytelling by challenging conventions and embracing new technologies. LILI was selected alongside Virtual Reality and Mixed Reality experiences and an AI installation.
LILI IN CANNES
The team behind LILI, including Cannes Best Actress Award Winner Zar Amir who plays Lady Macbeth (Lili) in the game, are currently in Cannes presenting the first chapter of the video game.
Festival attendees and journalists can play this demo until 22 May, with tickets bookable via the Cannes website.
THE STORY OF LILI
In an Iranian city shrouded in secrets, Lili, the lonely wife of a militia commander, orchestrates a murder to secure her husband’s rise within a corrupt regime. But as the killing disrupts the fragile order, she is drawn into the world of Hecate Web — modern-day witches who are hackers.
With surveillance increasing and betrayals mounting, Lili realizes the system she fought to climb is the same one that has always kept women like her powerless.
This neo-noir interactive adaptation of Macbeth immerses players in a world of AI, surveillance, and digital warfare, where power, ambition, and technology weaponise our secret realities.
The full game is now in development and slated to enter production in late 2025, and the final release will be available to play across gaming platforms.
