The multi-award-winning musical - currently playing in London, across the UK and in China - hits an incredible milestone as it reveals its new West End and touring cast.

Matilda The Musical has hit an incredible milestone, now having been seen by 13 million audience members in over 100 cities across the world.

As well as playing for its 15th year in London - making it the 10th longest running musical in West End history - the show is also currently on its second major UK and Ireland tour. Opening at Leicester Curve in October 2025, it will play in Birmingham until 2 August 2026, after which it will tour to Norwich, Dublin, Milton Keynes, Glasgow and then will conclude in Cardiff this winter into 2027.

Additionally, the show is currently completing its third visit to China, the 2019 national tour of which broke all Chinese box office records. It plays in Wuhan until 19 July 2026, when it moves to its final tour venue in Changsha on 24 July 2026.

NEW WEST END CAST ANNOUNCED

Meanwhile, the new cast have been announced for the West End production, as it continues to play at the Cambridge Theatre on London's West End.

Matt Corner (Mr Wormwood), Amy Ross (Mrs Wormwood) and Lucy St. Louis (Miss Honey) will join Jon Robyns who remains in the role of Miss Trunchbull. Following maternity leave, Lucy St. Louis will begin performances in January 2027 taking over from Eve Norris who continues in the role until 17 January.

The new West End cast has been announced for Matilda The Musical.

The new ensemble includes: Molly Cleere, Pedr Davies, Will Haswell, Karina Hind, Leyton Holmes, Joshua Lear, Stephanie Lindo, Stephen Murray, Ashley Rowe and Charlotte-Kate Warren. They join the existing ensemble who will continue in the production: Alex Louize Bird, Antony Lawrence, Tania Mathurin, Stuart Rouse, Millie Brown-Thornton and Callum Train.

Lola Judd, Scarlett Lindsey and Sachie Sheridan will join existing performer Sithuni Gamage, in the title role of Matilda at the Cambridge Theatre, from 15 September 2026.

The rest of the young performers announced today, joining the London company in the roles of Bruce, Lavender, Nigel and the rest of the pupils at Crunchem Hall are: Bodhi Allnutt, Christopher Azzopardi, Spencer Braam, Indigo Bush-Ramsey, Skylar Blu Copeland, Charles Dark, Kaycee Davis, Erin Donovan, Sloane Hart-Sheehan, Keilah Kofi, Naomi Mae Laing, Rise Maben, Oli Manning , Sara Murati, Alexzander Neophytou, Felix Pereiro, Joseph Purton, Lucas Rait, Harry Relf, Freya Sainsbury, Porscha Mai Staniford, Jacob Thompson and Indie Truslove. These new performers join the existing young cast members Alejandro García-Pérez and Samuel Sturge.

NEW YOUNG TOURING CAST ANNOUNCED

The show's UK & Ireland Tour has also announced the new young members joining the company.

Felicity Brown, Petra Hutchings and Caroline Ravansari join current company members Mollie Hutton, and Sanna Kurihara to share the title role of Matilda.

The other young performers joining the company are: Sophia Aina, Dalia Al Nagar, Jett Austin-Richards, Rio Chigwedere, Beatrice Clark, Isaac Cruickshank, Rupert Dunne, Polly Florence, Rahsaan Higgins, Kobi Lau, George Montgomery, Jacob Nolan, Thomas Rankin, Kaiheim Ricketts, Zienna-Rose Sterling, Cory Trimble, Martha Tutill and Aaron Zicman.  They join current company member John Johnson.

For the adult cast: Richard Hurst continues to play Miss Trunchbull, with Tessa Kadler as Miss Honey, Adam Stafford as Mr Wormwood and Rebecca Thornhill as Mrs Wormwood.

They are joined by Scotty Armstrong, Sam Holden, Portia Jefferies, Caoimhe Judd, Brooke Kelly, Ryan Lay, Cassandra Lee, Samuel Leon, Jordan Maisuria-Wake, Nicole Manumbre, Lizzie Nance, Esther Niles, Jordan Ricketts, Josh Singleton, Bradley Trevethan, Ella Tweed, Ben Tyler and Karen Walker.

The new cast members, many of whom live in and around the West Midlands, made a special visit to Touchwood Mall in Solihull to pose alongside Miss Trunchbull’s chair.

Written by Dennis Kelly, with music and lyrics by Tim Minchin and developed and directed by Matthew Warchus, Matilda The Musical is designed by Rob Howell, with choreography by Peter Darling, orchestrations, additional music and musical supervision by Christopher Nightingale, lighting by Hugh Vanstone, sound by Simon Baker and special effects and illusions by Paul Kieve.

Matilda The Musical has received 101 international awards including 25 for Best Musical, and continues to play to packed out houses.
