We are holding two days of general meetings to expand our knowledge of professional actors who identify as d/Deaf or disabled.
The RSC Casting team is conducting two days of general meetings in London on Tuesday 7 and Wednesday 8 July 2026 to meet professional actors who identify as d/Deaf or disabled.
These meetings are a positive action initiative intended to increase the RSC Casting team’s knowledge of professional d/Deaf and disabled actors, who remain under-represented in the theatre sector.
WHO SHOULD APPLY?
We are keen to hear from actors in this community who:
- Have at least one paid professional credit, or have undertaken professional‑level acting training (e.g. at an accredited drama school or through an equivalent pathway)
- Are over 18 years of age at point of application*
We encourage d/Deaf and disabled applicants from all backgrounds to apply. BSL interpreters will be available.
Please let us know of any access requirements when submitting your CV, so we know how we may support you.
Please do not apply if you have been cast in a production or workshop at the RSC in the past two years, as this opportunity is for actors not yet known to the team.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
Successful applicants will be invited to attend a meeting with members of the RSC Casting team and a director.
You will be asked to prepare a short Shakespeare monologue of your own choosing. Please note this could be spoken, signed, bilingual, visual or movement‑led.
WHERE WILL THE MEETING TAKE PLACE?
The meeting will be in person in central London (nearest tube station: Tottenham Court Road).
The audition venue has step-free access and wheelchair accessible toilet facilities.
Further details will be provided upon invitation.
HOW TO APPLY
Please send your acting CV and headshot to suggestions@rsc.org.uk, with the subject line: General Auditions. Please include a note of any non-availability on 7 and 8 July.
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee everyone a time slot. If we receive more eligible submissions than we have appointments available, applicants will be selected at random. We will not be able to make changes to the date and time provided.
The deadline for applications is midnight on Wednesday 17 June 2026.
*Please note, any opportunities for actors under the age of 18 will be advertised separately.
