Our first ever video game - a neo-noir reimagining of Lady Macbeth's story - will be showcased alongside other ground-breaking, immersive works.

Exciting news! We’ve been selected for the Festival de Cannes Immersive Competition 2025 for our co-production with New York based iNK Stories on LILI.

This is the RSC’s debut in video gaming, placing Lady Macbeth, one of Shakespeare’s most iconic female leads, front and centre, in a contemporary adaptation set in Iran, where LILI is fighting to exist under a surveillance authoritarianism.

The competition selects immersive works which showcase the cutting edge of a new era in storytelling, challenging convention, embracing new technologies, and above all celebrating new artists as well as old.

Working in partnership with Alambic Production, LILI is played by Cannes award-winning actress Zar Amir, who will attend the Festival.

The first chapter of LILI will be showcased at the Festival de Cannes from 13-25 May.

The full game is now in development and slated to enter production in late 2025 and the final release will be accessible across gaming platforms.
