  • We have recently released a brand new Teacher Pack for teaching Othello. This pack includes activities and tools for studying the play, inspired by our 2024 production.

  • From January our Guided Tours are changing. Our popular Guided Tour will became our Theatre Tour, just one of four new options. Schools can book a Theatre Tour by emailing learning.boxoffice@rsc.org.uk or call the Learning Hotline on 01789 331259 (midday – 6pm, Monday – Friday, excluding Bank Holidays)

What you can do when you visit our buildings:

  • Visit The Play's The Thing, our free interactive exhibition showcasing 400 years of theatre making with costumes and props selected by local community groups.
  • Book a Guided Tour and find out more about the history of our buildings and how we put plays on our stages.
  • Take a trip up The Tower to see 360 degree views of your town.

CPD for TEACHERS

  • Everyone is welcome at our Introduction courses and Foundation course. These entry level courses are the perfect introduction to teaching Shakespeare using RSC rehearsal room approaches. These courses form the foundation of the Certificate in Teaching Shakespeare, which includes Intermediate and Advanced course to further your understanding of RSC approaches and enable you to research their impact in you classroom. Next courses - Foundation Course 28 - 29 March and 4 July 2025
  • Explore our free resources Teacher Packs, Live Lessons and Online Performances and, the Shakespeare Learning Zone
  • We also host Teacher Webinars online for £10 per teacher about the plays in our season. The Next Webinar will be on 18 December on Twelfth Night. BOOK NOW
  • You can book an INSET Day with us and an RSC Practitioner will come to your school to lead sessions on using active approaches. For enquiries about INSET Days please contact teachers.courses@rsc.org.uk

YOUR COMMUNITIES

  • Use our Welcome Space. Groups are invited to use the PACCAR Room in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. To request an information pack to book this space, contact learning@rsc.org.uk.
  • Did you know that you can hire costumes and accessories from our Costume Hire? Anyone from individuals looking for the perfect party outfit to amateur theatre companies looking for period costumes can book an appointment and rent from Costume Hire

FOR FAMILIES

  • Visit The Play's The Thing - open from midday everyday. Enter via the Swan entrance of the building and head up to the second floor, there are stairs or a lift or ask one of our Front of House team for directions. 
  • Our Christmas Activities are now available to book or to drop in and see. Watch a Family Unwrapped for The Red Shoes or try the Shoemakers Trail.
