February Half Term Activities

Join us for a week of events inspired by The Boy in the Dress from Monday 17 - Friday 21 February.

Join us as we explore everything The Boy in the DressFrom free craft workshops exploring the themes of the book, to learning the dances and songs from the show, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

All week you can pick up a free Paper People activity sheet to discover hidden wardrobes around the building, explore our theatres on a tour, go to the top of the Tower for views across three counties, and dress up in costumes from our new dressing up cabinet. Just ask a member of staff for a free trail or to find out more. You can also discover our free exhibition, Rules Don't Apply on Level 2 of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.

THE PLAY'S THE THING

Kids go free to our award-winning family exhibition The Play's The Thing during Warwickshire school holidays. Up to four children can go free with every full price Adult ticket purchased. 

WORKSHOPS

Alongside our drop-in activities, exhibitions and events, you can take part in workshops, using approaches straight from our rehearsal rooms. These are broken down into three age ranges:

INTRODUCE

For ages 4 – 8 and their families/carers.
Introduce the love of theatre to your family with our series of fun and active taster workshops for children and their adults.

DISCOVER

For ages 8 – 12 and their families/carers
Discover how our actors and creative teams work in the rehearsal room, whilst learning more about the theatre together.

EXPLORE

For ages 13 – 17 years
These sessions will give a greater insight into the work of the RSC and how we create theatre and bring plays to life.

Introduce and Discover participants must be accompanied by a parent or carer must unless otherwise stated.

Thursday 20 February, 10.30am – 12.30pm

Join one of our pastry chefs as they demonstrate how to ice beautiful biscuits, before designing and decorating your very own dress shaped one.

No need to book, simply buy a voucher from Susie’s Café Bar at The Other Place.

£2.50 per biscuit
£4 per biscuit and hot drink.

Suitable for all ages, children must be accompanied by a parent/ carer.

Learn about the theatre making process on a backstage tour, especially designed for families. We’ll then head to The Other Place, where you will be able to try on costumes and make something inspired by your tour.
The tour and activities last approximately 2 hours. Please meet in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre foyer by the Cloakroom.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
