For over a century, the Embassy Theatre in Skegness has entertained thousands of people and the cream of British entertainment has performed on their hallowed stage. Blackpool’s beautiful Grade II listed Grand Theatre attracts the best in award-winning touring companies, including The National Theatre, English Touring Theatre, UK Productions, Opera and Ballet International and the Russian State Ballet. The theatre aims to appeal to all, with an eclectic offering of opera, ballet, quality drama, comedy and dance.

We are delighted that our partnership working with the RSC continues. Our Wyre Cluster will be performing their Year 3 Festival, Julius Caesar in March. Our 20 Blackpool and Fylde schools are being enthusiastically led by Our Lady of the Assumption, in the new Associate schools programme. The highlights for this year will include staff training in Blackpool and Stratford, pupils from St Mary’s taking part in a Backstage Pass work experience programme and lots of sharing of good practice for Active Approaches to Shakespeare.

Hall For Cornwall is the only large-scale purpose built theatre in Cornwall. We are a vibrant organisation presenting a varied artistic programme designed to help people of all ages to enjoy and experience the arts and further their own creativity.  We provide an extensive range of outreach activities for people of all ages and backgrounds, to complement our work on-stage. 

Hall for Cornwall has been working alongside the RSC for a number of years, through the work of the Learning and National Partnerships department. Being an Associate Regional Theatre Partner has enabled us to work with schools and young people who have least access to Shakespeare, cultural provision and the RSC. We have been able to offer teachers in-depth training in active approaches to Shakespeare, artist-led projects in school and performance opportunities within their local communities and on the Hall for Cornwall stage.

The work has been an inspiring and formative time for our team, enabling us to jointly give students valuable creative and life experiences that reach far beyond performance on stage.

Hull Truck Theatre is a producing theatre in the heart of Hull, making thrilling work of exceptional quality with a distinctive northern voice.

Inspired by our city, we tell powerful human stories that resonate with our times. Through our work with schools and with the community, we help to raise aspirations and give life-changing creative opportunities to thousands of young people, disabled groups and adults.
As part of the RSCs Associate Schools programme we work in partnership with St Mary’s College Hull and a group of Primary, Secondary and Special schools to transform experiences of Shakespeare and live theatre for young people.

This partnership enables us to make meaningful, sustainable relationships with schools and teachers and also gives students access to a work experience programme and a playmaking festival. The Associate Schools programme has enabled Hull Truck Theatre to welcome students and teachers to our theatre where they are inspired to learn, grow and have lots of fun!

Intermission Youth produces Shakespeare with a difference, and highlights the power of the arts in transforming people’s lives. Working with young people who are at risk or lacking in opportunities, we meet weekly for drama workshops where we devise our own original re-imagining of a Shakespeare play. 

Placing Shakespeare in a modern context and blending London street rhetoric with the original language, we enhance engagement with Shakespeare, promote discussion about key social issues and unlock our actors’ potential.  Alongside this process, we focus on the individual and promote personal wellbeing. 

Intermission Youth became an Associate Regional Theatre Partner with the RSC through the Learning and National Partnerships department in 2013, performed at Whose Culture? A Symposium Sharing 10 Years of Learning Between Schools and Theatres Nationally and are currently working with the Associate Schools Programme.

The Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury re-opened in October 2011 after an extensive rebuild and has since become one of this country’s leading regional theatres with a wide and varied programme that includes the best in national and international theatre, opera, music and dance.

Our theatre offers a major programme of creative activity for the community that has seen nearly 3,000 people involved in workshops since we opened. These activities are for a range of ages and include regular sessions run by professional practitioners on theatre practice, playwriting and dance.

The Marlowe is a proud partner with the RSC and Canterbury High School and ten other schools across Kent through the Associate Schools Programme. The ambition of our cluster is to create dynamic opportunities for young people to engage in the works of William Shakespeare and his contemporaries, which is rooted in Kent and their local community.

The New Vic is the producing theatre for Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire. We present a varied and adventurous programme that includes contemporary drama, new commissions, innovative adaptations and accessible classics.  Productions have toured nationally and internationally and we have been an Affiliate Company of the National Theatre Studio.  We’ve developed award-winning community programmes, working regionally, nationally and internationally through our Education Department and ground-breaking New Vic Borderlines, working to change the lives of disadvantaged members of our communities.

We are proud to be an Associate Regional Theatre Partner for the RSC’s Associate Schools Programme. The initiative has allowed us to work with and bring Shakespeare to life for young people ranging from Early Years children to undergraduates, as well as providing invaluable Professional Development in our area.

Newcastle Theatre Royal is one of only nine Grade I listed theatres in the country and is one of the best and well-recognised independent large scale theatres in the UK. Our landmark theatre in the heart of the city centre has an unrivalled reputation for staging the best national and international touring working, welcoming world class theatre including drama, musicals, dance, opera and our annual family pantomime.

We create moments of magic on and off stage, through an ambitious creative programme for audiences and communities across the North East and are committed to supporting established local artists as well as new and emerging talent from across the region.

Our Creative Engagement Team work with young people and community groups to deliver a number of talent development programmes, engaging with approximately 7,500 people every year and proving participants with pathways to find their own creativity, support their personal and professional development, improve well-being and provide positive health outcomes.

We make theatre that is imaginative, engaging and politically connected to the life of our region.  We present and collaborate with the most original regional, national and international theatre companies in our venue in Newcastle upon Tyne.

We create opportunities for a broad range of audiences to participate in the performing arts, and are a vital resource for theatre training in the North East. We champion creativity and support a diverse range of artists to create ambitious and adventurous theatre.

Silhouette Youth Theatre is based in a shopping centre in the middle of Northampton and works closely with the community it serves. It is committed to providing affordable and accessible opportunities for all and it seeks to Redirect the Light. This means shining the light on areas of social deprivation, on communities that are forgotten and on young people that need us the most.

Young people are at the heart of everything we do and many of these young people have a passion for Shakespeare. They perform on a regular basis, they are part of Next Generation Act, Next Generation Backstage and many of them are RSC Ambassadors. We also have young people on the Youth Advisory Board and we are committed to the principles that guide the RSC in their work.

We have a strong Connect Programme and we work with over 30 local primary schools and three local secondary schools. We provide training, support and performance opportunities for our young people. We are also involved in the creation of touring performances and often perform to the the community to speak the word even further.

We are dedicated to showing the impact this work can have on young peoples lives and we are very excited to be an Associate Regional Theatre Partner and we can't wait to be supportively challenged on becoming even better!

The Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall Nottingham has been embedded in the cultural life of Nottingham since the Theatre Royal first opened its doors in 1865.

We pride ourselves on bringing the finest touring companies to our venue, including Opera North, Birmingham Royal Ballet, National Theatre, Dance Consortium and the RSC.

Established in 2001 our learning department engages across all ages and backgrounds including delivering weekly arts courses for the over 55s, a community choir in partnership with the Institute for Mental Health, community theatre projects and a volunteer led programme exploring the history of the Theatre Royal, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Our involvement with the Associate Schools Programme and partnership with P6P provides extra strength and commitment to our work in schools. We will now seek to develop longer-term relationships with schools across the city, enabling students to access our work and our touring companies even further.

York Theatre Royal’s mission is to inspire and cultivate the potential of our community through the creative arts. 

We employ the resources of the Theatre as a whole, enabling the creative team to share their experience and energy, creating access to the product and the process of professional theatre. 

We seek creative links with schools, colleges and universities, building a learning community with us at its heart. 

Having been proud partners in the RSC’s Learning and Performance Network programme we are delighted to continue through the Associate Schools Programme. With York High School as Lead Associate School we are working alongside eight other Associate schools to continue the legacy of the LPN, which for us has been focused through performance festivals. We plan to continue this with a festival in 2017. The project for us has always been about co-learning, through the extensive staff development it offers and also for pupils who get to experience learning about Shakespeare through active approaches.
