You need to book a workshop at least six weeks in advance of the date of the workshop.

Please note that we cannot guarantee availability of your first choice of date and time because workshop availability operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Please be prepared to discuss a flexible range of dates and times with our Box Office team so that we can accommodate your booking.

Our largest space has a capacity of 30 students (plus three supervising members of staff). We can accommodate a maximum of three groups simultaneously with capacities of 30, 22 and 15 students. 

When you have made your booking you will be contacted by the Learning Team to find out some further details about the group you are bringing.

We can offer a workshop on any of Shakespeare's plays, including those on the GCSE and A Level syllabi.

We offer workshops for students from Key Stages 2 - 5 and Universities and we strongly encourage accompanying members of staff to join in.

Please check individual workshop pages to find out which key stages they are appropriate for.

We recommend that you do not mix key stages in a workshop.

When you have booked for a workshop you will be contacted by a member of our Learning team and asked to provide information about the access requirements of the group you are bringing.

The Clore Learning Centre has the following facilities:

• Accessible lift
• Accessible toilet
• Water cooler
• Lunch space (must be pre-booked)*
• Quiet space (must be pre-booked)

*We can offer The Loft in our Clore Learning Centre as a breakout space for your students to eat lunch if required. This space will need to be booked at the same point of booking. The maximum capacity of this space is 50 students.

Do you require a deposit to hold the date?

No deposit is required. You must book six weeks ahead of the date of your workshop.

When do I need to pay?

We expect full payment at least four weeks before the workshop.

How can we pay?

All payments must be made through the Box Office. We are not able to send an invoice for a workshop booking.

What is your cancelation policy?

Please see the FAQ. 

If you need to cancel your workshop you need give us a minimum of four weeks' notice. To notify us of any change to your booking please email learning@rsc.org.uk and learning.boxoffice@rsc.org.uk. 

Payment is due 28 days before your booking commencement date. In the event that you cancel the booking, we reserve the right to charge cancellation fees as follows:

Full fees will be refunded for cancellations made more than 28 days before your booking start date.

In the event of a cancellation made less than 28 days before your booking start date, 50% of the fee will be non-refundable.

If your cancellation is made 14 days or less before your booking start date, 100% of the fee will be non-refundable.

You’re welcome to postpone your booking rather than cancel. However, please note that any postponement of a workshop made within 28 days’ of the booking start date will incur cancellation fees as above.

There may be circumstances in which we need to cancel the Workshop. In such circumstances, we will provide you with a full refund of the amount of the fee that you have paid to us and we will make every effort to provide you with such refund within 30 days of the date of cancellation.

You can book for other activities within the RSC on the same day as your workshop. You will need to book these separately through the Box Office. Please allow enough time between activities to transfer to different locations. For queries about activities that are not hosted by the Learning team such as Productions or Theatre Tours please contact Box Office.
