60 years of memories

Last year we celebrated 60 years since the granting of our royal charter, and as we continue to celebrate this milestone, we want to hear from you. You, along with the millions of others who have enjoyed performances in Stratford-upon-Avon, London, across the country and around the world, are at the heart of our Royal Shakespeare Community. 

Our audiences are part of our history, and we want to hear your voice and your experiences. From your first time visit to your favourite Shakespeare or family production, how the RSC has inspired you, or even bumping into your favourite actor, we would love to hear your most cherished memory of the RSC.

Henry V with Kenneth Brannagh in the title role, I was hooked! - Ruth Clarke, Bronze Patron

My first trip to the RSC was early June 1984 for a matinee performance of Henry V with Kenneth Brannagh in the title role and I was hooked! Highlights? The first time I really heard the poetry (John Carlisle as Oberon 1990), understanding why people love As You Like It (2005 production), the 2001 Hamlet which finally unlocked the play for me. And in no particular order Roger Allam and Susan Fleetwood's chemistry (Much Ado About Nothing), Antony Sher's Richard III, Hugh Quarshie's menacing Tybalt, The Spanish Season, The Canterbury Tales, Wolf Hall, Clive Wood's haunting 'All my pretty chickens?', the Gunpowder season, King John (2012), the amazing History cycles of 2000 and 2007, and many more! February 2020 leaving the theatre after a high-energy, funny, heart warming The Boy in the Dress, not for one moment thinking I wouldn't be back soon.
