This summer we are pleased to welcome two more of this year’s leading ladies. In July we have Tanya Moodie, currently playing the very elegant Gertrude in the critically acclaimed production of Hamlet. Tanya is no stranger to the RSC, having played several roles in the 1990s including Valeria in Coriolanus and Mariana in Measure for Measure. She is an associate teacher and council member of RADA and has numerous credits on stage and screen.
Tanya joins us as she prepares to perform the one-woman show Joanne in the Making Mischief Festival at The Other Place.
Booking closes at 4pm on Wed 20 July.

Gillian Bevan returns to the RSC this year (she was previously in productions of As You Like It and Wizard of Oz) and takes on the title role in Cymbeline. This is not the first time Gillian has performed a role usually thought of as male – she was the recipient of a Best Actress Award for playing Polonia in the production of Hamlet which starred Maxine Peake as the troubled Dane.
Gillian has appeared in a wide variety of work from Alan Ayckbourn to West End musicals, has many television and radio performances to her credit and is also a writer and director.

The Merry Friends of Windsor
Thursday 20 October
As promised in our previous newsletter, we are now announcing the details of our trip to Windsor Castle in October. We have arranged for a special group visit to see the display entitled The King’s Man: Shakespeare and the Royal Court marking this year’s 400th Anniversary.
Among the treasures in this display is the Second Folio which belonged to Charles I and which has been personally annotated by the monarch. Our visit will include a talk and tea/coffee.
You may also wish to take advantage, at no extra cost, of the exhibition Fashioning a Reign: 90 Years of Style from The Queen’s Wardrobe. You will be at liberty to see this and to look around the State apartments after our talk.
We will be travelling by coach from Stratford, leaving the Leisure Centre at 8am and returning there by 7pm. It will not be possible to be dropped off at the entrance to the Castle – there is a lift which takes visitors from the coach park to the railway station and then it’s approximately a 10 minute walk to the Castle where we will have to go through airport-style security checks. No formal refreshment facilities are available but if visitors would like to leave the Castle to buy refreshments in the town, a free re-entry band can be obtained from any of the Castle shops. You may wish to bring something with you to eat on the coach.
Please contact Penny Kirkwood on email@example.com when you have booked through the Box Office, and include your mobile phone number. Please note that tickets for this event cannot be refunded or exchanged but do let Penny know if you find you are unable to go. Likewise, please get in touch if you find that all tickets have been sold in case she is able to give you details of someone who is no longer able to use theirs.
Booking closes at 10am on Thu 18 August
