Maria Aberg directed this 2013 production, following her riotous King John in the Swan Theatre.
As You Like It was part of the 2013 summer season in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, and then transferred to Newcastle.
Rosalind was played by Pippa Nixon and Orlando by Alex Waldman.
Music for the production was composed by Brit Award winner and Mercury Music Prize nominee Laura Marling.
In this production, when Rosalind and Orlando are banished from the oppressive court, they are forced to run for their lives into the wild depths of the Forest of Arden. However, in that harsh, lyrical wilderness, they discover an unexpected freedom, and as their anarchic love story unfolds, Arden bursts into summer.
You can hear more about Maria's vision for this production in the Director's Talk, recorded in summer 2013.
