60 years of memories

Last year we celebrated 60 years since the granting of our royal charter, and as we continue to celebrate this milestone, we want to hear from you. You, along with the millions of others who have enjoyed performances in Stratford-upon-Avon, London, across the country and around the world, are at the heart of our Royal Shakespeare Community. 

Our audiences are part of our history, and we want to hear your voice and your experiences. From your first time visit to your favourite Shakespeare or family production, how the RSC has inspired you, or even bumping into your favourite actor, we would love to hear your most cherished memory of the RSC.

Seeing my dad with tears rolling down his face with uncontrollable laughter at A Midsummer night's Dream- Member

My parents have both passed away in the last couple of years, but a couple of my best memories are of them in the RST in Stratford. They both loved Stratford as place to visit, but hadn't been big theatre goers, until I convinced them to attend some plays with me, and they were hooked. So our annual break to Stratford was planned around what was on at the theatre. We went to see Patrick Stewart in The Tempest for a matinee performance, when Ben Kingsley came in and sat in front of us, my mum had no idea who he was until I told her he was Ghandi. Another fantastic memory is of my dad with tears rolling down his face with uncontrollable laughter at A Midsummer night's Dream. From being people who wouldn't have thought they'd enjoy Shakespeare, the RSC totally transformed their view and we enjoyed many, many times at the theatres in Stratford. It will always be special to me, because of them.
