Come and visit our costume store in Stratford-upon-Avon. We have a huge range of costumes and accessories available to hire, from traditional theatrical costume to contemporary items and everything in between.
Who can hire costume?
Our stock is available to anyone who wants to hire it, amateur or professional. As well as theatre, film and TV, we also hire to schools, colleges and event organisers. Stylists, photographers, private individuals and fancy dress parties are all welcome.

Our services
Many of our customers like to browse and select costumes themselves, but if needed we are on hand to offer our help and advice. We can select costumes on your behalf and can email you images if you are unable to visit us in person. We also offer:
- A holding service to ensure your selection is available (subject to additional fees)
- Fast, reliable and cost effective courier service
Prices
Our prices are very competitive. Costumes and accessories are priced individually, so you can hire as much or as little as you need.
- You should allow for £90 +VAT for a full costume for the first week of hire.
- After week one the price reduces to 50% for the second week, and 25% from weeks 3 to 12, and then 10% after that.
- Our minimum hire period is one week. We do not hire for part weeks.
We charge the same rate to all our customers and are not able to offer discounts. With over 40,000 costumes we really do have something for every budget!
We accept credit card payments.
How to hire
Visits to Costume Hire are by appointment only Monday to Friday 10am – 5pm. To book an appointment, download and complete the Costume Hire Enquiry Form and email it to costume.hire@rsc.org.uk
