How you could explore a career in theatre by getting some hands-on experience with us.

Work placements for students

If you want some experience in the theatre, then our work placements may be ideal for you. These are aimed at people who want to get some valuable experience alongside their higher education studies or after their university course - they're unpaid, they're not contractual positions.

We offer our work placements to anybody aged 18 or over, who's legally eligible to work in the UK. We can't offer placements to anyone under 18, as this would conflict with our health, safety and child protection policies.

If you can't find a placement at the moment, it's possible we don't have any. But there are other ways to get involved, and you may find some of our tours, events and workshops are a great way of finding out more about our work.

We offer placement by formal schemes and through an open recruitment process. We can't offer placements all year round. Visit our current vacancies to see if any opportunities are currently available. Be the first to find out about a placement opportunity by signing up for job alerts.

WORK EXPERIENCE – FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AGED 13-18

We work with a network of around 200 schools across the country and provide work experience opportunities through our Next Generation programme. This gives talented young people from disadvantaged backgrounds the chance to explore a career in acting, directing or working backstage. More about RSC Next Generation.

Unfortunately, we can’t accept requests for work experience outside the Next Generation programme.
