Do Romeo and Juliet have to die?

Do Romeo and Juliet have to die?

Inspired by our new production of Romeo and Juliet, this discussion will reflect on how the deaths of Romeo and Juliet prompt their families to change their behaviour and call an end to their feud. How does society treat young people who think differently from their parents, teachers or the society into which they have been born?

The panel joining Erica Whyman (RSC Deputy Artistic Director and director of Romeo and Juliet) to discuss the current relevance of a 400 year old storyline includes Chloe Combi (author of Generation Z: Their Voices, Their Lives), Andrew French (playing Friar Laurence) and Susie Murphy (Development Manager, Positive Youth Foundation).
