Identical twins, wrenched apart by shipwreck as infants, end up in the same city. Five years into his search, Antipholus of Syracuse is now tantalisingly close to reuniting with his brother - but he doesn't know it yet.

As he advances through the streets of Ephesus with his attendant Dromio, a series of bizarre encounters with his brother's friends and family rapidly piles up into a mountain of chaos and confusion. Illicit attractions, thefts, false accusations and arrests make this a day unlike any other. And for added jeopardy, any Syracusian found in Ephesus has a price on their head...

Francesca Goodridge directs this First Encounters production of Shakespeare's first comedy. Following a run in The Other Place, this hilarious, fast-moving story of mistaken identity, near misses and a brave quest for reconciliation will undertake a tour to RSC Associate Schools, Associate Regional Theatres and community venues.
