Decking Maintenance Work - 8 September 2025

Over the next 10 to 12 weeks, we will be undertaking essential maintenance work on the decking next to the Riverside Cafe and alongside the River Avon. This means the access route between the Riverside Cafe and the Bankcroft/Swan Gardens will be closed during this time.

For access to and from the Bankcroft and Swan Gardens, please use the ramp footpath next to the Swan Gardens, along Waterside and around the front (roadside) of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Thank you for your patience while we complete the work.

Drop in and see us - we're open every day

Our Stratford-upon-Avon home is open most days of the year to simply drop in. 

The building is free to enter and there's plenty to see and do, from going up the Tower for a view of the town to grabbing a latte in our Riverside Cafe. We also have plenty of public toilets.

Opening times

Our Riverside Cafe and RSC Shop are open daily from 10am.

On performance days, our Box Office counter is normally open daily from 10am until 7:30pm. However please note the following temporary opening times throughout October and November:

Saturday 25 October - 10am
Sunday 26 October - 10am

Monday 27 - Friday 31 October - 11:30am
Saturday 1 November - 10am
Sunday 2 November - 10am

Monday 3 - Friday 7 November - 11.30am
Saturday 8 November - 10am
Sunday 9 November - 10am

On Sundays and other days where there are no performances, the building closes at 4pm.
