Front of House tours

FOH tour by David Woodings

Join our experienced guides on a tour of the Front of House areas of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and the history of the company.

You will be taken on a journey from the humble beginnings of the theatre in 1879, through the 20th Century with the rebuilding of the theatre, the formation of the current Royal Shakespeare Company and into the 21st Century through our recent Transformation.

Guides will divulge behind the scenes secrets such as how costumes are made and how effects are achieved.

Please note that this tour does not visit the auditoria or any backstage area.

Tickets cost £6.50 per person or £4 for under 18s and people with disabilities. There is a group rate of £110 for up to 20 adults.

Each tour lasts one hour and departs from the cloakroom. Please arrive at least 5 minutes before the tour start time.

All of our tours can be tailored for school visits - just let us know the ages of the students taking part when booking and we will do the rest. Please note that one adult is required for every 10 students.
