Find out what's happening around the building at the moment, including free exhibitions and trails to discover the theatre. Choose from a variety of events during the summer holidays, learn theatre techniques at a Summer Skills workshop or discover more about the current productions with a Family Workshop.

Join us for lots of free activities this summer with Stratford-on-Sea throughout the holidays and free open air theatre at The Dell.

Family ticket discounts
These are available Monday to Friday evenings and all matinees. They can be booked online, by phone or in person at the theatre.

Family activities
Free exhibitions: Visit us during the summer for an opportunity to try on costumes used on stage at the RSC with our free dressing up box, and enjoy our new exhibition Sea-Markings as you explore the building.

Play Cart: full of fun activities and available to use every day in the Riverside Cafe.

Family Trail: an easy to follow route through the theatre's history. Pick up a leaflet in the theatre foyers.

Family events: including Play in a Day and theatre skills workshops. 

Family tours: behind the scenes secrets and costumes to try on.

Children are also welcome in the Rooftop Restaurant and the Riverside Cafe.

We also run an active education programme working with schools.

Family-friendly facilities

  • Baby changing facilities in all ladies' toilets, plus the Swan Theatre and Rooftop Restaurant accessible toilets for gentlemen
  • Pram-friendly building: level access throughout and lifts to all floors and we can store prams in our cloakroom during the day on request
