Bringing the family
Find out what's happening around the building at the moment, including free family exhibitions and trails to discover the theatre. You can get involved with craft workshops or learn theatre skills with our summer events for families, or enjoy a range of free entertainment and activities including Punch and Judy shows and a pavement art workshop with our seaside themed Stratford on Sea programme during August.
Family ticket discounts
These are available Monday to Friday evenings and all matinees. They can be booked online, by phone or in person at the theatre.
Free exhibitions: Visit us this summer for an opportunity to try on costumes used on stage at the RSC with our free dressing up box, see inside the world of RSC Props with interactive exhibition Is This A Dagger? and explore the tradition of cross-dressing in theatre with our playful exhibition Who Wears the Trousers?
Play Cart: full of fun activities and available to use every day in the Swan Reading Room and Riverside Cafe.
Treasure Trail: an easy to follow route through the theatre's history. Pick up a leaflet in the theatre foyers.
Family events: including the Story Garden and Play in a Day.
Family tours: behind the scenes secrets and costumes to try on.
Children are also welcome in the Rooftop Restaurant and the Riverside Cafe.
We also run an active education programme working with schools.

- Pram-friendly building: level access throughout and lifts to all floors and we can store prams in our cloakroom during the day on request
