RSC RELEASES OPENING NIGHT AND PRODUCTION IMAGES FOR THE FAIR MAID OF THE WEST

The Royal Shakespeare Company has today released photographs from the opening night and production of The Fair Maid of the West, adapted and directed by Oliver award-winner Isobel McArthur, after Thomas Heywood.  

The production, which opened on Tuesday 12 December, runs in the Swan Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon until 14 January 2024. Images show the pre-show entertainment in the Swan Bar featuring music from ‘Drink Floyd’ with special appearances from the acting company singing some pub classics.  Full casting details can be seen here.   

Amongst the guests at the show were Togo Igawa and Paul Greenwood who appeared in Trevor Nunn’s 1986 RSC production of the play, which was part of the Swan Theatre’s official opening programme.

The Fair Maid of the West features Design by Ana Inés Jabares-Pita, Lighting by Sinéad McKenna, Music by Michael John McCarthy, Music Direction by Tarek Merchant, Sound by Niamh Gaffney, Movement by Emily Jane Boyle, Dramaturgy by Pippa Hill, Fights by Claire Llewellyn, Voice and Text work by Jeanette Nelson. Casting is by Martin Poile.
