We work with a network of around 200 schools across the country and provide work experience opportunities through our Next Generation programme.

We have 52 different departments, so the jobs we have are very varied. They range from roles directly involved in creating the shows, such as Lighting, Wardrobe and Technical, to roles which support this activity such as Finance, HR and Development. We also have a large Catering function, Nursery, Front of House teams, Education, Estates and IT departments, as well as admin jobs in lots of areas. You definitely don’t have to be a Shakespeare buff to work here. Where do you think you fit in?

We know you're keen to hear from us once you've taken the time to apply for a role at the RSC. We aim to reply to all candidates regarding their application within two weeks of the closing date. However, there may be times where this is not possible. In this instance we try to contact you within two weeks of the closing date, confirming receipt of your application with information on when you can expect a decision.

We offer placement opportunities via formal schemes When we do have opportunities, they will be advertised on our website.

You can also sign up to our job alerts service to get an email to you every time there is a placement of interest added. If you can't find a placement now, it's possible we don't have any. But there are other ways to get involved, and you may find some of our tours, events and workshops are a great way of finding out more about our work.

Yes. We are continually increasing the number of apprenticeships we offer. We have recently had apprenticeships in Venue Management, Sound, Scenic Carpentry and the Nursery. Sign up to our job alert service that will send an email to you every time there is an apprenticeship added.

Unfortunately, we don’t give feedback to each individual applicant due to the huge number of applications we receive; however, we are happy to provide feedback if you come for an interview. For data protection reasons, we dispose of any interview notes after six months.

In some cases, the RSC may be able to offer sponsorship under the Skilled Worker or Creative Worker route for candidates who require a visa to work in the UK. However, our ability to offer sponsorship is analysed on a case-by-case basis and is subject to the number of Certificates of Sponsorship available to the RSC and satisfaction of the relevant eligibility requirements. Most of our roles are advertised online, and we accept applications through our website. Depending on the requirements of the vacancy, this may be an application form, and others may be a CV upload. We will then invite you to an interview or assessment centre. Depending on the role, there may be one or two stages in the interview process. Once we have decided on the successful candidate, we will make an offer and only at this point will we contact references. A start date will be confirmed, and you will then start our induction process.
