About the artist

George Chakravarthi was born in India, and moved to the UK at the age of ten.

His work explores ideas of 'selfhood' and examines socially accepted definitions of gender, sexual and racial identity within live, photographic and video performances.

He has performed and exhibited widely, including in the UK at the Royal Academy of Arts, Tate Modern and the V&A.
