TEACHER'S PACK
We have created a My Neighbour Totoro Teacher Pack that's full of activities for students in KS3 and KS4 which can be adapted for other age groups. Download the pack via the button below.
Find out more about RSC Learning via their website
The activities provided in this pack can be used either as stand-alone practical approaches to this story or as supporting activities for students seeing the production. The activities focus on story, characters and themes within the play alongside theatre making, use of puppetry and Japanese origins. Some are best suited to an open space such as a hall, but many can be used in a classroom. The creation of this pack in 2022 was kindly supported by the Japan Society.
From events and workshops for students, to lesson plans, resources and CPD for teachers, we're here to help. Find out more about RSC Learning via their website.
All discounts subject to availability and are not valid during Peak Weeks (except Disabled People and Tik Tok Tickets). Discounts can be withdrawn for any performance at any time.
FAQs
AGE GUIDANCE
We suggest age 6+, but younger guests are welcome. The show is 2 hours 40 minutes, quite loud in parts and possibly scary for some younger children at moments. Children need to occupy their own seats at all times throughout the performance. This production is not suitable for children under four years of age (including babes in arms). Younger children and babes in arms are welcome at our relaxed performances.
CONTENT ADVISORY
Live theatre is exciting. It can be loud, bright, shocking at times, and occasionally some of the effects we use, or the themes our productions explore, can trigger distressing emotions.
We know that some of our audiences appreciate detailed information on the content of our shows in order to make informed decisions and to prepare themselves, or members of their party, including those with additional needs.
This production features:
Puppets, some large scale that will interact in audience space.
Themes of an ill parent in hospital.
Live music and sound effects that will be loud at times.
Running time: 2 hours, 40 minutes including interval
We will add more information here during the play's early performances; please revisit this page for more information.
