Poignant, funny and bitter, Shakespeare’s dark satire forces us to question where happiness really lies.

In a world driven by greed, what do we truly value?

Timon has it all – money, influence, friends. Surely it can’t last?

When the money runs out, Timon soon finds her influence and friends have also gone. Left alone, she flees Athens to take refuge in the woods, cursing the city she once loved.

Watch from Home, Thursday 17 - Wednesday 23 September

In advance of the January 2021 DVD release we are delighted to offer our Patrons, Members and Subscribers the opportunity to stream Timon of Athens into your home.

Our critically acclaimed production had Kathryn Hunter in the title role and played in the Swan Theatre in 2018.

Directed by Simon Godwin, Artistic Director of Shakespeare Theatre Company, the production was remounted for a successful run at the Polonsky Shakespeare Center and played at Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington DC, before closing early due to the pandemic.

The link to stream the show will be circulated from Tuesday 15 September and will go live at 7pm on Thursday 17 September. The link will be live for one week to allow you to watch at a time that suits.

You can book your ticket below. Please make sure that you are logged into your RSC account before trying to book your ticket. Please note that you only need one ticket per household but all of the members of your household can watch it with you! The performance will be on YouTube, and we will send out the link and password to watch it nearer the time.

Patrons' booking opens at 10am Monday 24 August.

Members and Subscribers' booking opens at 10am on Tuesday 25 August.

Tickets for the streaming are free, but we ask you to consider making a donation of at least £10 when you book, to the Keep Your RSC Campaign.

Online booking is now closed but please email invitation@rsc.org.uk to check availability.
