Carlyle's House, London - SOLD OUT
Saturday 3 October
Meeting at 11.15am, Sloane Square tube station, London

We continue our series of visits to places of literary interest, looking at the homes and lives of people inspired by Shakespeare. This house was the home of celebrity Victorian couple Thomas and Jane Carlyle and was visited by their distinguished friends including Dickens, Ruskin, Gaskell, the Brownings and many others. It is perfectly preserved and is a delight for anyone interested in literature and the Victorian period. After a pub lunch we will do a Literary Doorsteps walk in the area, looking at the outside of writers' houses.

Tickets: £8, plus entrance fee of £5.10 for non-National Trust members, payable on the day.
Booking has now closed.
