Get closer to Romeo and Juliet and the world of the RSC with our talks, and demonstrations.

Featuring members of the cast or creative teams, as well as expert guest speakers, our talks programme offers the chance to find out more about our plays. For each play we perform, we offer a pre-show Director Talk and a Post Show Talk with the cast, giving you the chance to have your questions about the show and the creative process answered.

Details of our events related to Romeo and Juliet are in the planner below, and you can also have a look at our other upcoming Director TalksPost Show Talks, and Unwrapped demonstrations.

We also offer a selection of drop in activities for families and a programme of family events.

Deciding on a career as an artist is not without its challenges. The constant explanation and justification of your work in response to worried parents, fretting about the financial implications and questioning the stability of their child’s chosen profession. Do you follow your vocation or settle in to salaries and sick pay? Our current version of Romeo and Juliet explores the generational divide in Shakespeare’s play - this is where we challenge it. Bringing together three young artists and their family members, through activities and discussion, we attempt to break down these barriers and talk openly about the importance of pursuing what you love. Part of our Talking about my Generation event series. This is a partnership event between Beatfreeks, the Royal Shakespeare Company and The REP.
