Justin Audibert's fierce and energetic production will be broadcast live from Stratford on 5 June.

Cinema audiences in the UK and Ireland will have the chance to see The Taming of the Shrew broadcast live from the Royal Shakespeare Theatre on Wednesday 5 June.

The play is set in a reimagined 1590s where the women are in charge. Matriarch Baptista Minola is desperate to marry off her very eligible younger son Bianco, but can she find someone to take her wilful eldest Kate off her hands first? Mixing high comedy with social satire, this production is as thought-provoking as it is hilarious.
