The first of our three summer Shakespeares, As You Like It, will be broadcast Live From Stratford-upon-Avon on 17 April.

Our season of live Shakespeare cinema screenings kicks off with As You Like It next month.

The riotous comedy, directed by Kimberley Sykes, is playing in rep in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre alongside The Taming of the Shrew and Measure for Measure until the end of August, before embarking on a UK tour. All three will have a live cinema screening, where the show is broadcast straight from Stratford onto big screens around the country.

The dates for the screenings are:

  • As You Like It - 17 April
  • The Taming of the Shrew - 5 June
  • Measure for Measure - 31 July

As You Like It has been praised for its playfulness and the chemistry between Lucy Phelps as Rosalind and Sophie Khan Levy as Celia. It's currently playing alongside our gender-swapped version of The Taming of the Shrew, directed by Justin Audibert, with Gregory Doran's Measure for Measure completing the season when it starts its run on 28 June.

International and encore screenings will be announced later in the year.
