Make the most of your summer with our events, workshops and performances.

We are running a whole host of events, performances and interactive workshops in Stratford-upon-Avon this summer. With everything from free exhibitions to drink tastings, there's something for everyone.

Summer family fun

The Swirl at Inside Out

Come and see performances in The Swirl, our new outdoor performance space on the Bancroft Terrace, with puppet shows and short plays based on our current Royal Shakespeare Theatre shows. Inside Out also includes free activities from Romeo and Juliet-themed table football to the chance to brew the Witches' spell from Macbeth.

For the grown-ups

We have three themed drink events where visitors can sample a range of tipples from the evening's brand, eat from a tailored menu and learn about the drinks on show from an expert. Join us for our:

Summer schools

For something a bit different, take a more in depth look at our plays with our summer schools. Get hands on experience of theatre making with help from RSC actors, practitioners and our Education team. You can sign up for:

  • Our 18-25 Student Summer School exploring Macbeth and Tamburlaine for five days from 28 August to 1 September
  • The RSC Summer School from 19 - 24 August offering teachers and anyone who wants to immerse themselves in theatre the chance to develop their knowledge and understanding of Shakespeare’s plays.

The summer fun can carry on into the evening with our lively performances of The Merry Wives of Windsor (starting 4 August) and our new musical Miss Littlewood, now playing in the Swan Theatre.
