The two actors and comedians are part of the cast for Restoration plays The Provoked Wife and Venice Preserved from May.
We announce the cast for our two Restoration plays in the Swan Theatre, with Rufus Hound returning to the Company and Les Dennis making his RSC debut.
Les will play Colonel Bully in Phillip Breen’s riotous comedy The Provoked Wife. He appears as Priuli in Prasanna Puwanarajah’s fast-paced new production of Thomas Otway’s Venice Preserved, alongside Jodie McNee, Michael Grady-Hall, John Hodgkinson and Natalie Dew.
Best known for his work in television and comedy, Les has been a fixture on the stage for many years, including in a recent touring production of The Addams Family. Last year, he was nominated as Best Male in a Play at the Offies for his role in End of the Pier at the Park Theatre.
Rufus Hound comes back to the RSC after his recent run in our revived production of Don Quixote in London. He will join Les, Caroline Quentin, Alexandra Gilbreath and Jonathan Slinger in comedy The Provoked Wife, as the suitor Constant.
The Provoked Wife opens in the Swan Theatre on 2 May, followed by Venice Preserved on 24 May.
