Tickets for our relaxed performance of Charles Dickens’ much loved classic tale are now on sale.
Join Scrooge, Bob Cratchit, Tiny Tim and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future as we take you on a magical journey. This unique performance is designed for anyone who would benefit from a more relaxed environment, including people with autism, sensory and communication disorders or learning disabilities.
There will be a more relaxed attitude to noise and movement in the auditorium and the lighting and sound will be adapted. There will also be a chill-out area outside the auditorium, and a visual story explaining the experience that will be sent out beforehand.
This performance also has semi-integrated British Sign Language interpretation, by Clare Edwards.
The relaxed performance of A Christmas Carol takes place in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon on Thursday 1 February, 1.15pm.

On Thursday 1 February to coincide with our Relaxed Performance of A Christmas Carol, we are also relaxing entry into our interactive exhibition The Play’s The Thing. Each exhibit is sign language interpreted using the Zapper App. The exhibition is fully wheelchair accessible, large print guides are available and the exhibits offer touch panels so that you can experience the textures of the costumes. You will be provided with ear defenders should you wish to use them, a copy of a sensory map which gives information about what to expect from the exhibition as well as a disposable camera for you to take photographs of items and activities that interest you. There will be a chill out area and you can come and go as you please throughout the day.
