Our award-winning exhibition of theatre-making will reopen Friday 30 March with new costumes and props.

Take a journey into the world of theatre-making this Easter, as our interactive exhibition The Play’s The Thing reopens on Good Friday.

New items on display include:

  • Kenneth Branagh's straitjacket from the 1992 production of Hamlet
  • David Tennant's suit from Romeo and Juliet in 2000
  • Sir Laurence Olivier's cape and tunic, worn in Macbeth in 1955

Permanent items on display include our rare copy of Shakespeare’s First Folio, which will be showing pages from Macbeth. You can also use our interactive exhibits - trying on virtual costumes with the Magic Costume Mirror.

From Friday, The Play’s The Thing will be open daily in the Swan Theatre building, and entry is free to all under-18s throughout the Warwickshire school holidays.
