Matilda returns from her travels and celebrates six years since the musical first opened in Stratford-upon-Avon.
Matilda packed her suitcase in New Zealand and returned from her travels on 22 October, after four very successful years on tour internationally. The show has entertained audiences on Broadway, across North America, and around Australia, and completed an Antipodean tour in Auckland this weekend.
On the way, Matilda The Musical brought its total of international awards to 85, including 16 for Best Musical, a record-breaking seven Oliviers, four Tony Awards and another record-breaking 13 Robert Helpmann awards in Australia. Seven million people have seen the show around the world.
Matilda The Musical celebrated its sixth birthday on 25 October and will start its first UK and Ireland tour at Leicester Curve in March next year, before touring to Dublin, Sunderland, Milton Keynes, Birmingham, Manchester Palace and Cardiff, with more dates to be announced in the new year.
