Join us in the Dell this weekend for one of our free outdoor shows, RSC Snapshots.

Snapshots will take place every Friday, Saturday and Sunday this month for 45 minutes at 1pm and 3pm each day in the Dell Gardens, Stratford-upon-Avon.

Snapshot performances and government guidance
Following the government announcement yesterday about social gatherings of no more than six people, we can confirm that the RSC Snapshots will continue as they currently fit within those guidelines. Groups of up to six people in each will be able to sit together and enjoy RSC Snapshots in the Dell Gardens throughout weekends in September.

These non-costumed pop-up performances will be different each week, featuring speeches and sonnets performed by actors from our postponed productions of The Winter's Tale and The Comedy of Errors

Performers need to be socially distanced from each other so the shows are a selection of monologues, duologues, sonnets and speeches.

25-27 September: for the final weekend of RSC Snaphots, actors Kemi Bo-Jacobs and Assad Zaman curate a celebration of new writing produced under lockdown

Performances are unticketed, on a first come, first served basis, with room for up to 23 household groups (maximum six people each), plus some standing spaces. Please don't arrive more than 30 minutes before your chosen performance.

Outdoor performances - know before you go

Where to sit: our experienced front of house staff will be on hand before the event to advise on seating areas. No seating is provided, so bring your own picnic rug or folding chairs. Seating areas will be clearly indicated and family groups will sit in bubbles, separated from other groups by at least 2 metres. We will ask you to vacate the space after the show to allow plenty of time for the next audience to be seated safely.

Age range: performances are suitable for everyone aged 7+.

Toilets: Stratford District Council toilets in the gardens are open before, during and after all performances.

Your contact details: we will be taking contact numbers for NHS Track and Trace. We will ask you to write down your details, then we scan the information and store it electronically. Once scanned we shred the paper version and after 21 days we delete the electronic copy.

Refreshments: our Riverside Cafe and 'Rocket' ice cream van are providing a take away service close to the main entrance of the theatre.

Cancellations: in case of bad weather, please check our Twitter feed (@TheRSC) or on Facebook ahead of the performance, as we may have to cancel at short notice.

BSL-interpreted performances: We will have a BSL interpreter for the audience at both shows on Sunday 23 August and Sunday 30 August.

Read our Covid-19 safety measures (PDF) to find out more about the changes we have made to protect our visitors and staff.
