Find out what's going on this half term, from free activities to theatre workshops.
It’s the school holidays again! We know, it seems like the kids have only just gone back to school but it's already time to think of things to do for another whole week.
Thankfully, there’s lots going on here at the RSC, with free activity trails and crafts, as well as workshops and exhibitions.
Take part in a theatre Workshop
28-30 May | Various times and locations
Our workshops bring theatre to life, using techniques straight from the rehearsal room to teach young people aged 4-17 about how we create our shows. This half term, find out about and perform The Taming of the Shrew, have a go at creating augmented reality, find out about using movement to create characters, or test your costume-making skills with our Head of Paints and Dyeing.

Stories for littlies
31 May - 10am and 11.30am | The Other Place
Because stories are not just for bedtime! Gather round the Storytree as Kate returns with two workshops for under-5s, telling stories of sisters and adventures. Tickets are free, but book ahead to secure your space.
Try out costumes at the Dressing up box
Every day | Cloakroom, Royal Shakespeare Theatre
Try on costumes, masks and other props from our shows at The Cabinet of The Lost. No need to book - just come and have fun! Keep an eye out, as you might find a naughty fairy hidden amongst the treasures, too...
Make the most of lunchtime
Every day | Various locations
We have something for every taste with our range of cafes, restaurants and bars. Stop off for a burger at Susie's in The Other Place, take afternoon tea at the Riverside or Swan Cafe, or enjoy your food with a view at the Rooftop Restaurant - we have a children's menu for under 12s, or can make many of our dishes in half portions

Take a trip up the tower
Every day | Royal Shakespeare Theatre
Head up to the top of the Tower to get a panoramic view of Stratford-upon-Avon and beyond. Make sure to look out for the exhibition on the stairs as you come back down. Plus, kids go free with an adult ticket during the Warwickshire school holidays.
Explore our exhibitions
The Play's The Thing
Every day | Ground floor, Swan Theatre
Visit our award-winning interactive exhibition of theatre-making, full of props and costumes from our shows and a rare copy of Shakespeare's first folio. Get hands-on with our Director's Desk, play Hamlet using our state-of-the-art gaming technology, and try on virtual costumes at the Magic Costume Mirror.
The Play's The Thing
Every day | PACCAR Room, level 2 Royal Shakespeare Theatre | Free
Use technology to imagine what Stratford was like for Shakespeare. With our tablets and headphones, you can make scenes from Shakespeare’s plays spring to life in augmented reality.
Have a run around!
Every day | Swan Gardens
Make the most of our green spaces and the (hopefully!) lovely weather by having a run around in the Swan Gardens. Bring a picnic and you'll have the chance to make friends with the local wildlife too...
Get an ice cream
Take a stroll along the river to visit The Rocket, our stylish silver ice cream van parked in front of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre selling ice cream and hot and cold drinks. After all, there's nothing like an ice cream in the park on a sunny day.
