Take part in our The Boy in the Dress competition and enjoy a bedtime story from the cast of Matilda The Musical.

Thursday 7 March is World Book Day and we've taken inspiration for our celebrations from our two book-based musicals, The Boy in the Dress and Matilda The Musical.

You can win signed The Boy in the Dress goodies and a family ticket to the show by taking part in our photo competition. Get involved by sharing a photo of you or someone you know dressed as a character from The Boy in the Dress on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook, using the hashtag #RSCBoyinDress or tagging @TheRSC. Read the full T&Cs to find out more.

Once you've shown us your creative side, settle down for the Official World Book Day Bedtime Story, presented by West End cast members from Matilda The Musical. Tune into the Matilda The Musical Facebook channel at 7pm to hear a reading from the book by Malinda Parris (who plays librarian Mrs Phelps in the show), and see a performance of the song 'Quiet' by Isobel Hubble, one of the four young actors who share the role of Matilda.

This is the 22nd World Book Day, when children and young people are encouraged to get into reading with free book tokens and nationwide events. Roald Dahl's famous heroine is at the heart of the celebrations this year as Matilda is featured on each of the 15 million book tokens given to every school child in the UK and Ireland.
