40 young people from around the country worked with RSC departments to put on two performances of a scene from Twelfth Night.

Last week, The Other Place was taken over by 40 young people as part of our Next Generation: Backstage programme.

These 13-18 year-olds from across the country are all students at schools engaged in our national partnership programme, Associate Schools. Over four days, they and their teachers joined nine RSC departments to produce a scene from Twelfth Night for performance at the end of the week. They worked alongside Director Robin Belfield and actors Esh Alladi and Eloise Secker to create the scene, and ran the show twice to almost full houses.

“This experience has taught me that I want to work in theatre. It was a great experience and if there was any way to come every day, I would.” (Student, County Durham)
