As part of our programme of accessible performances, Matilda The Musical will have its sixth relaxed London show this June.

Our relaxed performance of the award-winning Matilda The Musical will return to the Cambridge Theatre on Sunday 9 June.

Designed to be more comfortable for audiences with autism or learning disabilities, we adjust the lighting and sound levels for these shows to soften their impact, and the audience has the freedom to make noise and move about the auditorium as needed. Chill-out areas with soft seating and activities are available for people who need a break from the show, and all bookers receive a visual story to help familiarise them with the plot, characters and setting before they arrive at the theatre.

Tickets are available for the reduced price of £25 and £10 and can be booked through the RSC Ticket Hotline on 01789 331111 or in person from the Cambridge Theatre.

For audiences in Stratford-upon-Avon, we have three relaxed performances currently announced:

There will also be a Chill-Out Area at The Other Place for the Shakespeare Birthday Celebrations coming up next month, where people with learning disabilities or autism, or anyone who would benefit from a more relaxed environment, can come and take a break during the day.

We work with the National Autistic Society and Mousetrap Theatre Projects on the shows to make them accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
