An extra performer appeared on stage for the opening night at the Bradford Alhambra - Blue Peter presenter Radzi Chinyanganya was taking part in a special challenge.

Our production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream: A Play for the Nation is currently touring across the UK.

Blue Peter presenter Radzi Chinyanganya took part in a special challenge for the show's opening night in Bradford. Radzi has been a Blue Peter presenter since October 2013. So far Radzi has completed many challenges on the programme but he’s never had to perform live on a theatre stage before.

Radzi’s stage debut saw him appear alongside local schoolchildren from Samuel Lister Academy as part of the Fairy Train in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Before taking to the stage he took part in training sessions with members of our creative team including the Director, Erica Whyman.

Watch Blue Peter on CBBC on Thursday 21 April at 5pm to see how Radzi did.
