Over 40 students travelled to Stratford-upon-Avon for our Backstage Pass work experience program this week.

Backstage Pass is a unique opportunity for students aged 14-18 to gain a hands-on experience of working at a theatre company. The students will have an extremely busy week, working with various departments to produce a scene from The Tempest in the Studio Theatre at The Other Place.

Seventeen schools are taking part, and students have been recruited from our lead Associate Schools, Associate Schools and Warwickshire Schools. They first attended an open day in December, to tour our venues and meet the staff they will be working with throughout the week.

They will be working across several different departments including: Scenic Arts, Costumes, Front-of-House, Technical, Stage Management, Digital, Marketing, and Props. At the end of the week, the students will present their work to one another, before performing Act I, Scene 2 from The Tempest.

The Backstage Pass program will help students develop the necessary skills to work in a theatre environment, and provide them with an introduction to the extraordinary world of theatre.
