Midsummer Night's Dreaming

Midsummer Night's Dreaming was a one-off digital theatre project with an acting company performing Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream in real time across Midsummer weekend (21-23 June 2013).

Meanwhile, the story was shared through photos, snippets and news stories online from the perspectives of lesser known characters, as if it was happening in real life. During the weekened:

  • There were 110,000 unique visitors on dream40.org
  • #Dream40 appeared on 25 million Twitter feeds
  • 1,000 people took part in the online creative community from across the world
  • 3,000 pieces of content were released – one item at least every five minutes
