A festive town project to celebrate the people and businesses of Stratford-upon-Avon
Follow the elephant through town as you discover 24 unique and surprising window displays created in partnership with local shops, community groups and independent businesses based in Stratford-upon-Avon town centre. Inspired by our winter production, The Magician's Elephant, you can look for an elephant in every window.
You can follow the trail in any order and visit as many locations as you wish.

Creating a window display in Bell Court
As part of the trail, we partnered with Stratford-upon-Avon College to provide photography, art and design students the opportunity to work with us and create their window display in Bell Court.
The first part of the window display included creating a photoshoot in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. The students created a brief with Set Designer Anna Kelsey, chose props and dressed the set before taking part in a workshop with the puppeteers and Assistant Director Martin Leonard.
Student, Cece Arthur, noted how these types of projects can develop students professionally: “It’s really cool to work with a company that people recognise. Everyone knows the RSC. So, it’s really good to have on the CV. It also helps to build industry contacts, and this can develop further professional relationships so it’s great for networking.”
Art and design students then contributed to the finished display by designing and printing 80 mini elephants and one large wooden elephant to sit alongside the final photo. Find window 17 on the trail to see the finished display.
