Primary
INSET days for teaching Shakespeare at EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. This list is indicative of popular plays requested. Let us know if you would like an INSET Day on another Shakespeare play.
Secondary
INSET Days for teaching Shakespeare at Key Stage 3, GCSE and A-Level for English Literature, Drama & Theatre or Performing Arts.
All our Secondary INSET Days include an introduction to using approaches and techniques from our rehearsal rooms in your classroom.
- Explore extracts from the plays, as actors and directors, including monologues, soliloquies and dialogues for key scenes
- Activities for unlocking Shakespeare's language that invite discussion and critical thinking about the text
- How to respond to exam questions with evidence from the text, especially for GCSE and A-Level students
- Analysis of the key characters and their relationships
Date/Time: By arrangement; with availability throughout the year.
Location: We can come to your school anywhere in the UK or you can come to one of our education spaces in Stratford-upon-Avon.
Duration: 6 hours including breaks; usually 9.30 am – 3.30 pm.
Cost:
- State schools*: £970.00
- Independent schools**: £1,400.00
- ITT (Initial Teacher Training) providers: £1,200.00
- International schools: for INSET outside of the UK, please contact us for bespoke pricing.
*Including schools run by academies and local authorities, and free schools.
**Any education institution which charges fees for attendance, including universities.
Materials: We supply all session texts and materials via email in advance. Following the course, each participant will receive a set of high quality resources with detailed descriptions of the strategies and texts used during the day to support their planning and teaching.
Numbers: 10-25 people; we can quote for larger sessions if required.
