Shakespeare and Creativity MA students from the University of Birmingham’s Shakespeare Institute present two new plays in response to Shakespeare.
In The Folkman’s Tale, Imogen’s coffee shop is stuck in the past, struggling with the takeover of disco and electronic sound. She must make a choice between her father’s folk legacy or embracing the future of music.
This Filthy Crow is a striking exploration into the neglected female characters of Shakespeare’s plays. Follow the self-discovery of three witches through trials that test their friendship, values, and above all, their freedom.
The Folkman's Tale and This Filthy Crow will be performed at The Other Place in Stratford-upon-Avon on Friday 17 and Saturday 18 May. Tickets are free but must be reserved in advance.
