Jon Boden, lead singer from the band Bellowhead, will compose the music for our touring production of The Winter's Tale.

Shakespeare's tale of jealousy and forgiveness will be directed by Lucy Bailey, who also directed this year's The Taming of the Shrew.

This new production will feature music by Jon Boden, lead singer and founder member of contemporary folk band, Bellowhead. Jon also performs with Spiers and Boden, and Jon Boden and The Remnant Kings.

The production opens in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon in January 2013, will then tour to:

  • Milton Keynes Theatre
  • Grand Opera House, York
  • Theatre Royal, Nottingham
  • Festival Theatre, Edinburgh
  • New Theatre, Hull
  • Regent Theatre, Stoke

The role of Leontes will be played by Jo Stone-Fewings. He was last seen on the RSC stage as Oberon and Theseus in A Midsummer Night's Dream.

The production is designed by William Dudley, with lighting by Oliver Fenwick, and sound by David McSevney.
