David Baddiel, Fame Not The Musical
Sunday 27 October 2013, 7.30pm

Fame: we're obsessed with it, but who will talk honestly about what it's really like? David Baddiel, in his first full show for 15 years, does.

From accidentally stealing the spotlight at Russell Brand's wedding, to realising Andrew Lloyd Webber thinks he's Ben Elton, David Baddiel examines his strange relationship with the New Lad/Token Jew/comedy rock'n'roller/football singer-songwriter persona he's co-existed with for 20 years.

David is one of the country's most successful post-alternative comedians, responsible for some of the most memorable and ground-breaking comedy achievements of the last twenty years. Together with Frank Skinner, David created and presented Fantasy Football (BBC Two and ITV 1) and Baddiel & Skinner Unplanned (ITV 1), while also, alongside the Lightning Seeds, attaining three number one hits with the football anthem Three Lions. He recently released his fourth novel, The Death of Eli Gold, and is currently adapting his 2010 film, The Infidel, into a stage musical.

Fame Not The Musical arrives in Stratford fresh from a run at the Edinburgh Fringe.
